The regional train (abbreviated R) is the train train of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB). The regional train is the successor to the Austrian passenger train. It does not like the mandatory requirements of all stations, only the second one.

Trains are increasingly being replaced by express railways. Regional trains are currently in East Tyrol, Styria, Upper Austria, Lower Austria, Vorarlberg, Burgenland, and occasionally Schwarzach in Salzburg-Tyrol-Bahn - St.Veit - Saalfelden and Tauernbahn's Spittal-Millstättersee - Mallnitz-Obervellach area. The regional trains are responsible for the slightly longer connections that are too far from the core of the high-speed rail to run S-Bahn.
